Happy 80^th, Mrs. Anjali Deshpande !

Anjali has always been an inspiration to her husband, the legendary Dinoo - a fact we all readily acknowledge. Yet, we rarely pause to appreciate how truly remarkable she herself is. A top-class athlete in her own right, Anjali chose to step away from her own spotlight and stand beside Dinoo, whose brilliance, many of his admirers would agree, shone even brighter because of Anjali’s presence and support.

Together, Dinoo and Anjali have earned countless admirers - both within the Air Force and beyond. But it is the cricketing fraternity, where Dinoo spent years playing and later mentoring young talent, that owes this exceptional couple an especially deep debt of gratitude.

Dinoo Sir’s sudden passing two years ago left a void that only Anjali Ma’am’s strength and grace could fill. We, the Veteran Cricketers, continue to look up to her for inspiration and guidance.

Here’s wishing her good health, happiness, and joyful celebrations with her wonderful family – sons, Captain (Air India) Rahul and Brigadier Nikhil, both fondly remembered by all of us for bowling their hearts out in our nets.
